The Enterprise and Innovation Centre (EIC) is a £12 million flagship project due to open in May 2012. This new facility will be created by renovating the existing Larchfield Mill by removing the roof and adding an additional storey on top. By removing the old Larchfield Workshop, space will be created to form the new three storey glazed extension that will house the main entrance to the building along with a new exhibition and presentation room.

Due to the nature of the existing ground conditions the substructure comprised piled foundations and ground beams together with a ground bearing ground floor slab.

Mike Hollis, Dave Braybrook and Tim Stower were the lead Engineers for the duration of the project responsible for the superstructure, substructure, drainage and infrastructure.
